Why beMahan costs ₹0: education should be free

Why beMahan gives every chapter, video lesson, note and chapter test at no cost, with no ads and no trackers, and what that means for your family.

The beMahan team

Somewhere in India tonight, a child is stuck on a question. Maybe it is fractions, maybe the parts of a plant, maybe how to read a new Hindi word. Whether that child gets unstuck often depends on one thing: can the family afford tuition?

We don’t think it should. That is the whole reason beMahan exists.

Quality education at ₹0 cost

On beMahan, every chapter comes with:

  • Short video lessons, each on one idea, in Hindi with English subtitles, made to be clear and kind to a child’s attention.
  • Notes that sum up what to remember from each lesson.
  • Chapter tests that work like a school question paper, with explanations for every answer.
  • Coins, streaks and badges to celebrate steady effort.

All of it costs ₹0. There is no “premium” plan hiding the good parts, no trial that runs out, and no payment page anywhere.

No ads. No trackers. Ever.

Free websites usually pay for themselves by showing ads or collecting data. Children deserve better than that. beMahan:

  • shows no advertising,
  • has no third-party trackers or advertising pixels,
  • never sells or shares data for marketing,
  • asks a parent to sign in, as India’s data protection law requires, and lets them download or delete everything with one button.

Why lessons are short, and why they are in Hindi

Long lectures lose children. A short lesson on one idea, followed by a moment of thinking, works better. Lessons are narrated in Hindi because that is how many children think and talk at home, with English subtitles so they also learn the English words their textbook and exams use.

Built along the NCERT books

Lessons follow the chapters of the current NCERT textbooks, chapter by chapter and topic by topic, so what your child watches matches what their school teaches.

Other boards are coming. We are grinding hard and will publish soon. Write to bemahan.official@gmail.com to ask for your board’s content first.

What we ask of you

Only this: use it, and tell another family. A good lesson shared with one more child is how this grows.

Questions parents ask

Is beMahan really free? Is there a paid version?

Yes, it is really free, and there is no paid version. Lessons, notes, tests, coins and badges all cost ₹0. There are no ads either.

How does beMahan make money without ads?

It doesn't sell anything to families. The site is built to run at very low cost, and we will never pay for it by showing ads to children or selling their data.

Do I need an account to watch lessons?

No. All lessons and notes are open to everyone. A parent's account is needed only to save progress and take chapter tests, which earn coins.

Which boards and classes are covered?

CBSE / NCERT lessons are on the site now. Other boards are being prepared; write to bemahan.official@gmail.com to ask for your board first.
