Our privacy promise

In short: beMahan costs nothing and has no ads. We keep only what we need to teach your child, we never sell or share it for marketing, we never track children for advertising, and you can download or delete everything at any time.
Who we are
beMahan ("we") makes video lessons, at ₹0 cost, for students in Classes 1 to 12. For any privacy question, or to reach our grievance officer, write to bemahan.official@gmail.com. We reply within 7 days.
Who can sign up
Our students are mostly children. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a parent or lawful guardian must agree before a child's details are used. So only an adult signs in: a parent or guardian, with their own Google account, who confirms they are the child's parent or guardian and are 18 or older. They then add a profile for each child. A student who is 18 or older may sign up for themselves.
What we keep
- The parent's account: the Google account ID, email address and first name that Google shares when you sign in, and a phone number only if you choose to give one.
- Each student profile: first name, board, class, state, school (optional) and the subjects chosen.
- Learning activity: which lessons were watched, chapter test answers and scores, coins, streaks and badges.
- Your consent: when you agreed, to which version of this notice, and a one-way scrambled form of the network address it came from, as a record.
We do not ask for a child's photo, date of birth, surname, address or any government ID.
Why we keep it
- To suggest the right subjects for the board and class, and to show the right lessons.
- To save progress, coins and test results, so the student can continue where they stopped.
- To contact the parent about the account, only when needed.
- To keep the site safe: blocking bots, stopping abuse and preventing coin cheating.
What we never do
- No advertising, and no tracking or behavioural monitoring of children for any purpose other than their lessons.
- No third-party trackers, advertising pixels or social-media widgets on our pages.
- We never sell personal data or share it for marketing.
- Leaderboards, if you turn them on later, show first names only.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, one that remembers which student is learning on this device, and one that remembers your language. None of them is used for advertising or tracking.
Who helps us run beMahan
- Google Firebase handles sign-in and stores account and learning data.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and protects it from attacks (including the Turnstile human check on the sign-in page).
- YouTube plays our lesson videos. We embed them in privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube's own privacy policy applies when a video plays.
They process data only to provide these services to us.
How long we keep it
As long as the account is open. When you delete a student profile or the whole account, the data is erased from our live systems at once and from backups within 30 days. We keep the consent record, which contains no child's details, as long as the law requires.
Your rights
- See your data: download everything we hold from the "Who's learning" page.
- Correct it: edit a profile, or write to us.
- Erase it and withdraw consent: remove a student, or delete the whole account, with one button.
- Complain: write to our grievance officer at bemahan.official@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nominate: you may nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to.
Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will ask you to agree again the next time you sign in.
